Israel Concerned Over Potential U.S.-Iran Deal Under Trump

Israel is expressing apprehension regarding the possibility of a deal between the United States and Iran under President Donald Trump, fearing that it may not address critical issues that have fueled conflict.

Sources indicate that an agreement could allow Iran to maintain parts of its nuclear program while neglecting key topics such as ballistic missile development and support for regional proxy groups. This scenario could lead Israel to view the situation as an unresolved conflict.

“The main concern is that Trump might tire of negotiations and settle for any deal with last-minute concessions,” noted an Israeli source.

While U.S. officials have assured Israel that the issue of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile will be addressed, the source emphasized that the exclusion of ballistic missiles and Tehran’s network of proxies from discussions remains a significant concern.

Officials warn that a partial agreement, which does not tackle some of Iran’s critical capabilities while easing economic pressure, could inadvertently stabilize the regime and provide it with a financial influx.

These concerns highlight the growing divide between Trump, who appears reluctant to reignite conflict, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who fears that a resolution could fall short of achieving Israel’s original objectives.

Israel is worried that a potential U.S.-Iran deal under President Trump may overlook critical issues, leaving the conflict unresolved. Concerns center around Iran's nuclear program and its support for regional proxies, raising tensions between U.S. and Israeli leadership.
