Iran has declined to hand over its stockpile of highly enriched uranium, asserting that this issue was not included in previous agreements with the United States.
A senior Iranian official informed that discussions on Tehran’s nuclear program are set to take place during negotiations aimed at a final agreement between the involved parties.
“The nuclear issue will be addressed during the negotiations for a final agreement and is therefore not part of the current deal,”
the official told Reuters.
The source also denied reports regarding the potential export of enriched uranium from Iran, stating,
“No agreement has been reached regarding the export of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles outside the country.”
In recent days, the United States and Iran have intensified talks concerning a possible agreement related to Iran’s nuclear program. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei noted that the parties are discussing a “memorandum of understanding” as an initial step, with the aim of moving towards a broader agreement within 30 to 60 days.
