As discussions unfold within the European Union regarding representation in potential negotiations with Moscow, Poland has made its position clear. The Polish Prime Minister has stated that Warsaw insists on direct involvement in any decision-making processes.
In a recent statement, Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized that Poland will not adhere to any agreements unless it is directly involved. He remarked, “Otherwise, we will not comply with any agreements.” This declaration follows Tusk’s previous assertion that Poland must be included in any talks aimed at ending the ongoing conflict.
Poland has expressed dissatisfaction with the E3 negotiation format, which includes the UK, Germany, and France, as it excludes other allies. Tusk had warned that Poland would not recognize any arrangements made without its participation. In a show of solidarity, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni supported Poland’s stance, advocating for the appointment of a single representative for Europe in negotiations with Russia.
Poland has asserted its demand for direct involvement in EU negotiations with Russia, rejecting any agreements made without its participation. This stance is supported by Italy's Prime Minister, highlighting a push for unified European representation in the talks.
