Germany is taking significant steps to bolster Ukraine’s ability to conduct long-range strikes through a new joint venture aimed at weapon development.
According to German officials, the IRIS-T air defense systems previously provided to Ukraine will be supplemented with additional launchers to enhance their effectiveness.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius emphasized that this initiative will strengthen Ukraine’s capacity for strategic strikes. He noted that the collaboration between Germany and Ukraine will focus on the development and production of various types of medium- and long-range drones.
In addition to this joint venture, Germany plans to allocate €300 million for the acquisition of long-range drones produced in Ukraine.
Pistorius stated, “These measures are intended to support Ukraine’s new defense concept. They will help maintain and enhance Ukraine’s momentum. Ukraine can continue its defensive struggle only with our collective support. Their success depends on all of us.”
