Developers Showcase Innovations in AI at Consensus Miami 2026 Hackathon

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — The EasyA Hackathon, part of Consensus Miami 2026, attracted nearly 1,000 developers, shifting the focus from traditional crypto projects to innovative applications centered around AI agents. Participants hailed from established blockchain ecosystems like Base and Solana, as well as tech giants such as Microsoft and Google, all eager to develop solutions that leverage artificial intelligence.

This year’s event marked a significant evolution in the hackathon’s direction, reflecting a broader trend observed earlier at the EasyA x Consensus Hong Kong event. Organizers have dubbed 2026 the “Year of the Application Layer,” emphasizing a move away from infrastructure tools towards consumer-oriented AI applications and autonomous agents.

Dom and Philip Kwok, co-founders of EasyA, expressed their vision for the hackathon as a launchpad for future tech giants. “We want billion-dollar companies coming out of EasyA,” Dom Kwok stated. The brothers pointed to previous successes, including the Harvard team that founded Cognition AI, now valued at approximately $10 billion, as evidence of the hackathon’s potential.

Participants at the Miami event were clearly motivated by the opportunity to create products with real-world applications. This year, the emphasis was notably on AI agents, with Coinbase sponsoring challenges around the emerging x402 framework for AI-agent interactions. Solana and Solana Mobile also encouraged teams to focus on mobile-first applications.

“Lots of developers are really excited about AI agentic workloads,” Dom noted, referencing the substantial venture capital flowing into AI infrastructure startups. The projects showcased at the hackathon illustrated the breadth of innovation, with one team, Praxis, developing blockchain-connected drones controlled via smartphones, while another aimed to create software capable of turning text prompts into physical 3D objects.

The judging panel rewarded projects that advanced AI agents beyond simple chatbots, recognizing their potential for real-world applications in automation and commerce. The winning teams demonstrated a clear shift towards developing products designed for everyday use.

Kickstart Track ($50,000):

  • First place: FlyPraxis – A platform for real-time drone intelligence aimed at military applications, utilizing AI for autonomous drone management.
  • Second place: HIIE – A system that transforms text prompts into buildable hardware products, streamlining the prototyping process.
  • Third place: Clan World – Focused on AI-driven coordination and community applications.

Solana Mobile Track ($30,000 + $75,000 worth of Solana phones):

  • First place: Parabola – A decentralized prediction market on Solana for speculating on real-world events.
  • Second place: Snakr – An AI app that helps shoppers identify health risks and recalls in food products.
  • Third place: Rhythym – A mobile app designed to assist users with executive dysfunction in completing daily tasks.

Coinbase / AWS Track ($45,000):

  • First place: Dairy Price API x402 – A service providing AI agents with direct access to dairy market data for pricing and forecasting.
  • Second place: AgentPay – A payment system allowing users to approve AI-agent transactions with risk validation.
  • Third place: Giggy – A marketplace for hiring AI agents for research tasks, with crypto escrow for payments.

As the hackathon concluded, it was clear that the landscape of blockchain and AI is rapidly evolving, with developers eager to push the boundaries of technology and create impactful solutions.

The EasyA Hackathon at Consensus Miami 2026 showcased nearly 1,000 developers focused on creating AI-driven applications. With a shift towards practical uses of AI agents, the event highlighted the potential for innovative projects to emerge from the blockchain space.
