Ukrainian Currency Rates Surge as Dollar and Euro Prices Rise

On the morning of April 20, 2023, Ukrainians faced a notable increase in foreign currency prices, with both the dollar and euro experiencing significant gains over the weekend.

Key Developments:

  • Weekend Increases: The dollar rose by 35 kopecks in banks, while the euro increased by 48 kopecks.
  • New Highs: The average selling rate for the dollar reached 44.20 UAH, and the euro surpassed 52.25 UAH.
  • Bank Rates: In PrivatBank, the dollar is priced at 44.30 UAH, 44.40 UAH in PUMB, and 44.23 UAH in Monobank.
  • Card Rates: PrivatBank set the highest rate for the euro at 52.63 UAH for cashless purchases.
  • Exchange Offices: Cash currency also saw price increases: the dollar is at 43.95 UAH, and the euro at 51.95 UAH.

According to data from the Minfin portal, as of the morning of April 20, the average dollar rate in exchange offices stands at 43.95 UAH for purchases and 43.80 UAH for sales. This reflects an increase of 15 kopecks compared to the morning of April 17.

The euro can be purchased at an average rate of 51.95 UAH and sold for 51.60 UAH, marking increases of 35 and 20 kopecks, respectively, since Friday.

In banks, both the euro and dollar are priced higher today. The average dollar rate is now 44.20 UAH for purchases and 43.60 UAH for sales, with increases of 35 and 25 kopecks over the weekend.

The euro in banks has surpassed 52 UAH, with a purchase rate of 52.25 UAH (+48 kopecks) and a sale rate of 51.40 UAH (+35 kopecks).

PrivatBank currently sells the dollar for 44.30 UAH at branches and 44.24 UAH for cashless transactions. The euro can be bought for 52.50 UAH in cash and 52.63 UAH with a card.

Oschadbank offers dollars at 44.25 UAH through its mobile app and 44.35 UAH for card transactions. The euro is priced at 52.30 UAH in the app and 52.45 UAH for cashless purchases.

In PUMB, the dollar is available for 44.40 UAH in cash and 44.20 UAH for commercial transactions. The euro can be purchased for 52.40 UAH.

Monobank lists the dollar at 44.23 UAH and the euro at 52.35 UAH.
