Instagram has introduced an update that allows users to add individual captions for each photo or video in carousel posts. Previously, users could only write a single caption for all images in a post, limiting the ability to provide context for each piece of content.
This new feature is part of a broader rollout that began appearing for some users and is expected to be fully available worldwide within a week. It follows a previous update that increased the maximum number of media files in a carousel from 10 to 20, enabling users to combine multiple images and unique captions in a single post.
The ability to create up to 20 distinct captions opens new avenues for storytelling, tutorials, and blogging formats. Users are not required to fill in every caption field, allowing them the flexibility to decide whether to craft individual descriptions for each slide.
In addition to the caption feature, Instagram has implemented several other enhancements aimed at improving user experience. These include:
- Camera Improvements on Android: The app’s built-in camera now supports Ultra HDR and Night Sight modes for compatible devices.
- Algorithm Customization: Users can now personalize their feeds to better meet their individual preferences.
- Profile Management: Users can rearrange posts directly within their account grid, allowing for greater control over their profile layout.
Instagram's latest update introduces individual captions for carousel posts, enhancing user engagement and storytelling capabilities. Alongside this feature, the platform has rolled out additional improvements, including camera enhancements and feed personalization options.
