Ukrainian Military Denies Commander’s Involvement in Assault Video

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have refuted claims that the commander of the 155th Separate Marine Brigade is involved in a widely circulated video depicting the assault of a serviceman. Following the incident, a service investigation has been initiated.

The video, which surfaced online, allegedly shows the commander striking a soldier in front of a military unit, prompting significant public outcry on social media platforms.

However, representatives from the Ukrainian Ground Forces have stated that the individual in the video is not the brigade commander and that he is not connected to the actions depicted. They have committed to conducting a thorough internal investigation.

“According to the information available at this time, the commander of the 155th Separate Marine Brigade is not the person recorded in the video and is not involved in the actions shown,”

the Ground Forces reported.

Despite the denial, a service inquiry has been launched to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation aims to assess the actions of those involved and to ensure appropriate legal responses in coordination with relevant law enforcement agencies.

The injured serviceman is receiving necessary medical care, and military command is in contact with his family.

“The Ukrainian Armed Forces do not tolerate violence, humiliation of human dignity, or actions that contradict military discipline and the law. All established facts will receive appropriate legal assessment, and those responsible will be held accountable according to the law,”

the Armed Forces stated.

Further information will be provided once all circumstances are clarified in accordance with legal protocols.

Additionally, according to the Military Law Enforcement Service, a soldier, who is a drone operator from one of the units, is implicated in the assault.

“After committing the offense, he left the military unit without permission. Notices for his apprehension have been sent to all units of the Military Law Enforcement Service and the National Police. Search operations are ongoing,”

the Military Law Enforcement Service reported.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have denied that the commander of the 155th Separate Marine Brigade is involved in an assault depicted in a viral video. An investigation is underway to clarify the incident and hold accountable any individuals found responsible.
