The Ukrainian military has reported a series of strikes on Russian territory and areas of Ukraine currently under occupation. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), significant damage was inflicted on the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery in Yaroslavl, Russia, where a fire was confirmed at the facility.
Additionally, military trains belonging to Russian forces were reportedly hit near the settlements of Menchugove and Kelerivka in occupied Donetsk. The AFU also noted that previous strikes on April 24, 2026, successfully targeted the Kasta-2E1 radar station in Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, and the Pantsir-S1 air defense system in Mariupol, Donetsk.
The Yaroslavl Oil Refinery is a strategically significant facility, processing approximately 15 million tons of oil annually. Its products, which include gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, are critical for the logistics of the Russian military.
Currently, Russian authorities have not publicly commented on the information provided by the AFU. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion by Russia, various targets within Russian territory have been subjected to airstrikes, with oil refineries frequently targeted in 2024 and 2025. Ukrainian forces have also conducted strikes on Russian assets in occupied territories.
The General Staff of the AFU has consistently confirmed the majority of these attacks, stating that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are systematically implementing measures aimed at degrading the combat capabilities of Russian occupation forces and compelling Russia to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.
Ukrainian forces have conducted targeted strikes on key Russian military and industrial sites, including an oil refinery. These actions are part of a broader strategy to undermine Russian military logistics and capabilities amid ongoing conflict.
