Ukrainian Forces Target Oil Infrastructure in Occupied Crimea

Ukrainian special operations forces have conducted strikes on oil storage facilities and a maritime oil terminal in occupied Crimea, as reported by military command on June 7. The targeted site included the Semikolodezansk oil depot in the settlement of Yedi-Kuyu, approximately 200 kilometers from the frontline.

According to military sources, the depot is utilized by occupying forces as a logistics hub for storing and transporting fuel oil, diesel, and bitumen. It contains nine tanks with capacities ranging from 700 to 3,000 cubic meters, which are used to load tankers for distribution across Crimea and other occupied territories to support Russian military operations.

Additionally, Ukrainian drones struck a maritime oil terminal in Feodosia, located 250 kilometers from the frontline. This terminal reportedly houses seven fuel tanks with capacities of 10,000 and 20,000 cubic meters. Military officials noted that the terminal serves as a multifunctional complex for transferring oil and petroleum products from rail tankers to maritime vessels.

Military command emphasized that targeting Russia’s oil processing infrastructure aims to diminish its economic and logistical capabilities. The strikes are part of a broader strategy to weaken the operational potential of Russian occupying forces and compel Russia to cease its military aggression against Ukraine.

Reports from Crimean social media and Ukrainian monitoring channels had previously indicated an attack on the oil depot in Yedi-Kuyu. In response, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that its forces had destroyed 95 Ukrainian drones over various regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk, and occupied Crimea, during the night of June 7. However, details on the number of drones that evaded interception were not disclosed.

Since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion, various sites within Russia and occupied Ukrainian territories have been subjected to aerial strikes. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has confirmed most of these attacks, stating that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are systematically implementing measures to reduce the combat capabilities of Russian troops.

The ongoing conflict has led to a fuel crisis in occupied Crimea, with reports indicating a growing shortage of fuel due to the strikes on Russian oil production and logistics. Restrictions on fuel sales have been imposed, limiting purchases to 20 liters per vehicle, and filling canisters has been prohibited.

As the situation develops, the impact of these military actions on the logistics and supply chains in Crimea continues to be monitored closely.

Ukrainian special operations forces have targeted key oil infrastructure in occupied Crimea, aiming to disrupt Russian military logistics. The strikes on an oil depot and a maritime terminal reflect ongoing efforts to weaken Russian operational capabilities amidst a growing fuel crisis in the region.
