In the early hours of June 8, Ukrainian defense forces faced a significant drone assault from Russia, involving 155 strike drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, Bandero, and imitation drones dubbed “Parody.” The drones were launched from multiple locations, including Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from the temporarily occupied region of Crimea.
Ukrainian air defense units, supported by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups, successfully intercepted a large portion of the incoming threat. As of 8:00 AM, preliminary reports indicated that 124 out of the 155 drones had been destroyed or suppressed across northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
According to the Air Force’s summary, 20 of the strike drones managed to reach their targets, resulting in confirmed hits at 17 locations. Additionally, debris from the downed drones fell at six other sites.
At the time of reporting, the drone attack was still ongoing, with approximately ten enemy drones remaining in the air.
Ukrainian forces successfully intercepted a large-scale drone attack from Russia, downing the majority of the drones. Despite this, some drones reached their targets, causing damage in several locations.
