Ukrainian military forces have successfully reached designated objectives along the border in the Sumy region, according to recent statements from President Volodymyr Zelensky.
During a detailed discussion with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Zelensky highlighted ongoing military activities at the front. Since the beginning of 2026, Russian military losses have reportedly exceeded 145,000 personnel.
These figures include approximately 86,000 killed and at least 59,000 wounded, with more than 800 Russian soldiers taken prisoner. Zelensky emphasized the effectiveness of Ukrainian operations, stating, “We are achieving our defined goals in the Sumy region. We continue to eliminate Russian personnel and equipment in other areas as well. I particularly want to commend the precision of our drone operators. Active operations are ongoing, and I would like to recognize the contributions of our paratroopers and assault troops.”
