Ukrainian Drone Strike Hits Major Titanium Plant in Occupied Crimea

In the early hours of June 13, Ukrainian drone forces targeted the “Krymskyi Tytan” plant, the largest titanium dioxide manufacturer in Eastern Europe, located in the occupied city of Armyansk. This information was confirmed by Robert “Madyar” Brovda, the commander of the drone forces, via Telegram.

Brovda reported that objective control measures verified the strike’s success, referring to the operation as a “courtesy visit” by Ukrainian drones. Following the attack, a fire was detected on the plant’s premises, and production processes have reportedly been halted.

The “Krymskyi Tytan” facility is situated in northern Crimea on the Perekop Isthmus, near Armyansk. Before the Russian annexation of Crimea, it was the leading producer of titanium dioxide in Eastern Europe. The plant supplies essential raw materials for the production of explosives, rocket fuel, and munitions, serving the needs of the Russian military-industrial complex.

Currently, the plant is owned by entities linked to the Russian company “Russkiy Titan,” having been seized during the occupation of Crimea. This incident is not the first of its kind; in November 2025, the drone forces had previously targeted the Bromine Plant in Krasnoperekopsk, another facility critical to the Russian defense sector.

The “Krymskyi Tytan” plant has been under scrutiny in the past. In 2018, a significant chemical leak occurred at the facility, leading to the evacuation of over 500 residents from Armyansk. Furthermore, in 2023, Ukraine’s military intelligence reported that occupying forces were mining the plant’s workshops, raising concerns about a potential man-made disaster.

A Ukrainian drone strike has targeted the "Krymskyi Tytan" titanium plant in occupied Crimea, halting production and causing a fire. This facility is vital for the Russian military-industrial complex, and previous incidents have raised safety concerns.
