May has marked a significant month for Ukraine, witnessing an unprecedented recovery of territories previously occupied by Russian forces. This development has reportedly provided the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a tactical advantage, as stated by Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov following a recent meeting in the ‘Ramstein’ format.
According to Fedorov, Ukraine is currently in a stronger position against Russian occupiers. The Ukrainian defense forces have managed to significantly raise the cost in human losses that the enemy incurs for each square kilometer of Ukrainian land.
The minister emphasized that the latest gathering of international partners in the ‘Ramstein’ format highlighted a clear ‘window of opportunities’ visible in the upcoming months. He remarked, ‘We are diligently working to create new opportunities to compel the enemy towards a just peace.’
Fedorov expressed gratitude to all international partners and participants of the meeting for their ongoing support for Ukraine. He reassured that the country continues to fulfill its ‘homework’ and is making active strides daily.
In related developments, during the recent meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group on June 18, international partners announced new extensive aid packages totaling approximately $4 billion. Notably, the Netherlands committed to supplying Ukraine with around 700 cruise missiles and announced the transfer of long-range artillery with a range exceeding 30 kilometers.
Additionally, the United Kingdom officially allocated a new funding package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces amounting to £852 million, utilizing confiscated Russian assets for this purpose. This funding will cover the delivery of 150,000 drones produced in Ukraine, alongside 350 missiles for air defense systems and advanced radar technology to enhance the protection of Ukrainian airspace.
Ukraine has achieved significant territorial recovery in May, enhancing its military position against Russian forces. Concurrently, international partners have pledged substantial military aid to support Ukraine's defense efforts.
