Recent reports indicate that Russian Shahed drones have begun to alter their flight patterns in response to Ukrainian interceptor drones. This tactical shift suggests the potential introduction of new technology aimed at evading detection and interception.
A specialist in electronic warfare and communication systems revealed images of a device that may facilitate this maneuverability. The expert noted, “There is a likelihood that the system operates based on this camera,” hinting at advancements in the capabilities of Russian drones that could complicate interception efforts by Ukrainian air defense.
On April 30, the Russian military launched extensive drone attacks across Ukraine, deploying over 200 kamikaze drones. The city of Odesa was particularly targeted during nighttime assaults, with significant damage reported in residential areas.
Local authorities confirmed that at least 20 individuals were injured, including a 17-year-old boy. Several victims are in critical condition and receiving treatment in intensive care units.
The drone strikes resulted in considerable destruction, affecting a multi-story residential building and a five-story structure, both of which suffered extensive fire damage that was subsequently extinguished. Civilian infrastructure was also impacted, with a kindergarten, shopping center, hotel, and administrative buildings sustaining damage.
Throughout the day, Russian forces continued their attacks, targeting the suburbs of Dnipro. One individual was killed, and five others were injured in these strikes. According to regional officials, four of the injured were hospitalized, including a 65-year-old man in serious condition, and two women aged 43 and 54 in moderate condition. A 59-year-old man received on-site medical assistance.
The attacks also ignited fires in a local store and damaged nearby vehicles.
Russian Shahed drones are reportedly adapting their tactics to evade Ukrainian interceptors, indicating a potential technological enhancement. Concurrently, drone attacks on April 30 resulted in significant civilian casualties and damage in various Ukrainian cities, including Odesa and Dnipro.
