Russian Military Casualties Exceed 35,000 in March, Ukrainian President Reports

The Ukrainian military has reported significant losses inflicted on Russian forces during March, with casualties exceeding 35,000 soldiers. This figure includes nearly 34,000 personnel reportedly killed or severely injured due to drone strikes, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

In a statement, Zelensky highlighted that the casualties represent the highest monthly total since the onset of the conflict. He noted that these numbers are substantiated by video evidence recorded within the Ukrainian military’s operational framework.

Among the most effective units utilizing drone technology were:

  • Special Operations Center “A” of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU);
  • “Madjar Birds”;
  • Border Guard Special Unit “Phoenix”;
  • Lazar’s Group;
  • 95th Separate Assault Brigade.

Zelensky also mentioned that Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov provided detailed reports on the performance of various units at the front lines, with specific data available for each operational direction and category of losses. Ukraine is prepared to share this information with its international partners.

The President remarked that the Ukrainian Defense and Security Forces have effectively diminished the Russian military’s ability to dictate the dynamics of the situation on the battlefield.

In addition to personnel losses, Zelensky reported a notable increase in the destruction of Russian air defense systems, with 274 such systems reportedly targeted in March. There have also been significant achievements in neutralizing enemy supply depots and military logistics.

Further details regarding the successes of Ukrainian forces in March will be made available to the public, as indicated by Zelensky.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russian military casualties in March surpassed 35,000, marking the highest monthly toll of the conflict. The report highlights the effectiveness of drone operations and the destruction of Russian air defense systems.
