Russian Military Capabilities Limited Amid Ongoing Conflict

Russia is expected to maintain its current level of military engagement for at least another year or two, although its capacity for large-scale offensives remains constrained, according to military analysts.

Military commander Oleksandr Pyvnenko noted that Russia possesses significant mobilization resources, which, combined with its authoritarian governance, allows for troop replenishment despite considerable losses.

“In terms of human resources, they can sustain operations for another year or two even with such losses,”

Pyvnenko stated.

However, he emphasized that Russia is unable to form sufficient reserves for major operations.

“They cannot create serious reserves to, for example, advance from the north to Kyiv and resolve the situation. There are no thoughts of that because their forces are not infinite and the intensity of the conflict is extreme,”

he added.

Currently, Russian forces are focusing on attempts to advance in the Donetsk region, particularly near Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka, while capturing cities like Sloviansk or Kramatorsk remains a distant goal.

Pyvnenko also pointed out that the effectiveness of Ukrainian forces is increasing, complicating the enemy’s plans.

“We will establish such a defense and density of the kill zone that the war will lose all meaning for the Russians. They will achieve nothing but losses. We have shown that we will fight for our land, and the Russians understand this,”

he concluded.

Military analysts suggest that while Russia can sustain its current level of conflict for another couple of years, its ability to launch significant offensives is limited. Ukrainian forces are reportedly becoming more effective, complicating Russian military strategies.
