Russia has announced plans to intensify its attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure, purportedly as a response to recent strikes on Russian cities. This information was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing statements from the state-controlled news agency TASS.
In remarks made by President Vladimir Putin, he indicated that the escalation of military actions would be a direct reaction to what he described as aggression against Russian territory. He emphasized that these operations are intended to deter further attacks on civilian infrastructure in Russia.
Putin elaborated that the strikes would be strategically aimed at diminishing the motivation for Ukrainian forces to target Russian civilian sites. He characterized this approach as a systematic response to the actions taken by Ukraine.
Additionally, Putin claimed that damaged facilities within Russia are being restored rapidly, asserting that they do not pose significant challenges for the country. He stated, “We have everything restored quickly; there are no problems here. They cannot create serious issues for us. We must—and this is our next task—respond adequately. We are doing this and will increase our strikes on the enemy’s infrastructure to dissuade them from attacking our civilian objects. They will not succeed in achieving their goals of dividing society or harming our economy.”
Russia is set to escalate its military operations against Ukraine's infrastructure, following President Putin's assertion that such actions are a necessary response to Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory. The Kremlin claims its own infrastructure can quickly recover from damage, reinforcing its commitment to retaliatory measures.
