Mandatory Rotation for Troops Implemented to Enhance Safety

The Ukrainian military has introduced a new regulation mandating that soldiers remain on the front lines for no more than two months, followed by a compulsory rotation. This decision aims to protect the health and safety of personnel engaged in combat operations.

According to military leader Oleksandr Syrskyi, the prevalence of drones on the battlefield has altered the dynamics of warfare, necessitating this change. The concepts of frontline, rear, and depth of combat formations have significantly evolved, complicating logistics and troop movements.

In his directive, Syrskyi emphasized that commanders must ensure soldiers are rotated after their two-month deployment, with replacements scheduled no later than one month thereafter. This proactive approach is designed to maintain operational effectiveness while safeguarding the well-being of troops.

Additionally, the order outlines specific requirements, including:

  • Mandatory medical examinations for soldiers completing their assignments, along with designated rest periods.
  • Timely resupply of ammunition and provisions for troops engaged in combat tasks.

Syrskyi stated that adherence to this directive will be strictly monitored, with any violations resulting in accountability as per existing laws and military regulations. The order is applicable to all units conducting operations at the front.

The Ukrainian military has enacted a new policy requiring troops to rotate every two months to enhance safety and operational efficiency. This measure addresses the evolving nature of warfare, particularly with the increased use of drones.
