Russian Missile Strike in Dnipro Results in Casualties and Damage

On May 3, a missile strike by Russian forces in Dnipro led to one fatality and left 11 individuals injured, according to the regional military administration head, Oleksandr Hanzha.

Among the injured, six were hospitalized. Dnipro’s mayor, Borys Filatov, reported significant damage to a student dormitory, college and university buildings, as well as a residential apartment block and several private homes.

Filatov noted that public transport facilities were also affected, including a trolleybus that was passing by at the time of the attack. Fortunately, those on board survived. The injured are receiving care in local hospitals.

Initially, reports indicated that eight people had sustained injuries from the strike. This incident is part of a broader pattern, as Russian military forces routinely target Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure using a variety of weaponry, including drones, missiles, and multiple launch rocket systems.

Ukrainian authorities and international organizations categorize these strikes as war crimes, asserting that they are deliberate in nature. Attacks on essential services and healthcare facilities are viewed as attempts to deprive civilians of electricity, heating, water supply, communication, and medical assistance, raising concerns about potential genocidal actions.

The Russian government denies allegations that its military intentionally targets civilian infrastructure, asserting that it does not aim to harm non-combatants or destroy hospitals, schools, and other critical facilities.

A missile strike in Dnipro on May 3 resulted in one death and multiple injuries, alongside significant damage to civilian infrastructure. Ukrainian officials classify these attacks as war crimes, emphasizing their targeted nature against essential services.
