Explosions were reported in the Khmelnytskyi region and the city of Rivne following warnings of drone activity, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
The Air Force indicated that drones were approaching from the Vinnytsia region, specifically targeting the area around Staroostanyniv, which has frequently been struck by enemy forces. The alert about the drone threat was issued around 3 AM.
In addition to the incidents in Khmelnytskyi, explosions were also heard in Rivne, where drones were reportedly coming from the Zhytomyr region.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of intensified attacks across various regions of Ukraine, particularly on the night of Monday, when significant explosions were reported in Dnipro.
Additionally, there were reports of explosions in Odesa on the night of May 18, which resulted in damage to a school and a kindergarten, injuring two individuals, including a teenager.
It is also important to note Ukraine’s recent strikes on Russian targets, which occurred near Moscow. Drones hit several locations, causing fires and damage.
President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the world did not anticipate Ukraine’s capacity to challenge Russia in this manner. He described the strikes on the Russian capital as justified responses to ongoing aggression.
