Drone Attack Ignites Fire at Tuapse Seaport in Russia

A drone assault on the Tuapse seaport in Russia’s Krasnodar region occurred overnight on April 20, resulting in a significant fire and casualties. Local authorities reported that one person died, while another individual sustained injuries and is receiving medical treatment.

Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratiev confirmed the attack, stating that the fire broke out at the maritime facility. Reports from Telegram channels indicate that a large blaze has engulfed the tank farm of the Tuapse Oil Refinery due to the drone strike, with the fire still ongoing as of this morning.

This incident follows a previous attack on the Tuapse Oil Refinery on April 16. Both the refinery and the seaport are part of the Rosneft structure, a company closely associated with Igor Sechin, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ukraine has previously targeted Tuapse’s oil infrastructure in attacks during March, November, and December of 2025.

Since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion, various sites within Russia have faced aerial assaults, particularly oil refineries in 2024 and 2025. Russian facilities located in Ukraine have also been under attack.

The Ukrainian military has not yet commented on the latest incident in Tuapse. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed many of these attacks, asserting that Ukrainian defense forces are systematically implementing measures to diminish the combat capabilities of Russian occupation forces and to compel Russia to halt its armed aggression against Ukraine.

A recent drone attack on the Tuapse seaport in Krasnodar, Russia, resulted in a fire and one fatality. The incident marks a continuation of targeted strikes on Russian oil infrastructure amid ongoing military tensions.
