The death toll from a nighttime Russian missile strike in Dnipro has increased to 16, with 42 others injured, according to Oleksandr Hanža, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration.
Hanža reported that the search and rescue operation in the residential area targeted by the missiles has been completed. Among the injured are four children, three of whom are currently hospitalized alongside 21 adults. Medical personnel are providing necessary care to all affected individuals.
During a large-scale attack on Ukraine, Russian forces targeted Dnipro, resulting in significant damage to a four-story residential building. Dnipro’s mayor, Borys Filatov, announced a day of mourning for June 3 in remembrance of the victims.
Additionally, reports indicate that six people were killed and dozens injured in a separate strike on Kyiv. The Ukrainian Air Force stated that overnight, Russia launched 73 missiles and 656 drones across Ukraine, with 40 missiles and 602 drones successfully intercepted. The primary focus of the assault was Kyiv, but other regions, including Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava, also experienced attacks.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed responsibility for the “massive strike” targeting what it described as defense industry enterprises and fuel and transport infrastructure in Ukraine, asserting that all designated targets were hit.
