Kyivstar and ‘Come Back Alive’ Complete Mission 077, Providing Over 77 Million UAH in Communication Equipment to Military

Ukrainian telecommunications company Kyivstar, in collaboration with the charitable foundation ‘Come Back Alive’, has successfully completed its seventh joint project, dubbed ‘Mission 077’. The initiative raised over 77 million UAH (approximately $2 million) for communication equipment aimed at enhancing military coordination and operational efficiency.

The project was executed in three stages, enabling reliable communication for four army corps stationed along Ukraine’s northern border. The military received comprehensive equipment kits designed for autonomous operation, which included infrastructure for uninterrupted and secure communication, specialized transport for logistics, and pickup trucks for the rapid deployment of LTE networks in the corps’ areas of responsibility.

“Together with the ‘Come Back Alive’ foundation, we have completed another significant project in support of the Ukrainian military. This time, we provided our defenders with communication tools that directly impact their safety and effectiveness. When soldiers have reliable communication, they gain a tactical advantage,” stated Oleksandr Komarov, CEO of Kyivstar.

Key components of the communication packages included interactive panels, charging stations, satellite systems, wired telephones, and tablets. The project also involved collaboration with the Main Directorate of Communication and Cybersecurity of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Through this project, we have helped four corps enhance their communication systems at all levels—from main command posts to combat units and individual crews. We provided the necessary technology and equipment, ensuring operational readiness for communication deployment, maintenance, and repairs,” said Oleg Karpenko, Deputy Director of the ‘Come Back Alive’ foundation.

The initiative was made possible through contributions from Kyivstar subscribers and socially responsible businesses. Notably, subscribers who signed up for the ‘Superpower: Help the Armed Forces of Ukraine+’ service contributed nearly 22.5 million UAH, while Kyivstar allocated an additional 20 million UAH from its own charitable fund.

“Communication is the fundamental system for military management—whether at observation points, battalion, brigade, or corps headquarters. Communication tools serve as our ‘eyes’ and ‘voice’ over the radio. Without them, we cannot, for instance, deploy drones or execute approximately 80% of all combat tasks,” commented Yefim Ivanchuk, Commander of the 120th Separate Communications Battalion.

Kyivstar has consistently supported Ukraine during the ongoing conflict, contributing over 5.1 billion UAH to various initiatives over the past four years, including assistance to the Armed Forces and social projects. The company continues its partnership with the ‘Come Back Alive’ foundation, expanding their training programs for military operators.
