Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has alerted the public to the possibility of renewed Russian airstrikes, urging citizens to remain vigilant in response to air raid alerts.
During a briefing, Zelensky reported that Russian forces had launched new attacks on Ukraine using Shahed drones, with over 200 drones deployed throughout the day. While many of these drones were intercepted, some managed to reach their targets.
“Tonight and in the coming hours, it is crucial to pay close attention to air raid alerts: the Russians are preparing for a new mass strike. Please take care of yourselves,” Zelensky stated.
The President emphasized that Russia shows no signs of halting its military operations, despite numerous proposals for peace that have been on the table for some time. He called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to choose diplomacy and a genuine peace.
Additionally, Zelensky reiterated that the offer for a meeting remains open. “Our proposal for a direct and honest dialogue between Ukraine and Russia, supported by our partners, still stands. It is important for the war to be concluded peacefully,” he added.
