Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that Russian forces are intensifying their efforts to identify political and military targets in Kyiv for potential strikes. This includes specific plans aimed at government buildings, particularly the Office of the President located on Bankova Street.
According to Zelensky, Ukrainian intelligence has intercepted Russian documents detailing these intended attacks. He stated, “We have Russian documents that outline targets for strikes on Kyiv and other cities, focusing on political and military sites where leadership may be present. They have long been planning this, and now, following developments in Iran, they are actively searching for our locations and movements.”
The president emphasized that these threats extend beyond his personal safety to encompass other members of Ukraine’s military and political leadership, as well as intelligence and special forces.
Despite the ongoing threats, Zelensky reassured the nation that such plans would not alter the resolve of the Ukrainian people. He remarked, “Some people in Moscow still do not understand that Ukrainians will never surrender their independence. Regardless of whether I am at Bankova or elsewhere, we will not give up our land, sovereignty, or statehood.”
Earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense intercepted documents confirming Russia’s preparations for new missile and drone attacks. These documents indicate that Russia is targeting what it refers to as “decision-making centers,” which include nearly twenty political sites and military command points.
Among the identified targets are buildings in central Kyiv, various offices within the Presidential Office, and the official residence of the President. This renewed aggression follows a recent large-scale aerial assault in which Russia launched over 1,500 drones and 56 missiles into Ukrainian territory. In response, President Zelensky has directed the Defense Forces and Ukrainian intelligence to prepare countermeasures.
Ukrainian President Zelensky has disclosed that Russian forces are planning new attacks on key political and military sites in Kyiv. Despite these threats, he reaffirmed the nation's commitment to defending its sovereignty.
