Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Missile Ship in Primorsk Port

Ukrainian defense forces successfully targeted the Russian missile ship “Karakurt” at the Primorsk port, a vessel known for carrying Kalibr cruise missiles frequently launched against Ukraine.

Major General Evgeniy Khmara, head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), reported to President Volodymyr Zelensky about the successful strike on key infrastructure at the Primorsk port.

This operation involved collaboration between the SBU, drone forces, special operations units, military intelligence, and border guards.

In addition to the “Karakurt,” the operation also impacted a patrol boat and another tanker associated with a shadowy oil fleet. Significant damage was inflicted on the port’s oil infrastructure as well.

According to the Special Operations Forces, the “Karakurt” was equipped with a launch system and eight Kalibr missiles, which have a range of up to 2,000 kilometers. The 67-meter-long ship was also armed with the naval-based Pantsir-M air defense system.

The vessel was intended to protect the infrastructure and oil terminal at Primorsk from Ukrainian drone attacks but failed to do so.

On the same day, President Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces had also struck two Russian oil tankers in the waters of Novorossiysk, which were being used for oil transportation.

“Every successful operation limits Russia’s potential in this war. The SBU has also agreed on additional responses to Russian strikes on our cities and villages. Russia can end this war at any moment. Prolonging the conflict will only lead to an escalation of our defensive operations,” Zelensky stated.

Ukrainian forces executed a successful strike on the Russian missile ship 'Karakurt' in Primorsk, impacting both military assets and port infrastructure. This operation reflects ongoing military efforts to counter Russian aggression amid the conflict.
