Ukraine Receives Russian Intelligence on Countering Drone Deals

Ukrainian intelligence has obtained documents from Russia outlining strategies to counter Ukraine’s partnerships related to Drone Deals. This revelation was made by Oleg Lugovskoy, head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, during a report to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to Lugovskoy, the Russian political leadership has identified Ukraine’s ability to secure additional investments as a significant challenge. The documents indicate that disrupting Ukraine’s access to investments and hindering bilateral agreements on security cooperation and arms production have become foreign policy priorities for Russia.

Zelensky emphasized that Russia’s efforts will particularly focus on undermining Ukraine’s collaborations with partners in the Middle East and the Gulf region.

The Drone Deal initiative was initially proposed by Ukraine to the United States as a means to enhance air defense capabilities. The concept involved an exchange of Ukrainian drone defense technologies for American systems designed to counter ballistic missiles.

Despite interest from former President Donald Trump and U.S. military leadership, a final decision on the implementation of this initiative has yet to be reached.

Ukrainian intelligence has disclosed that Russia is actively working to undermine Ukraine's international partnerships, particularly in the context of Drone Deals. This strategy reflects Russia's broader goal of limiting Ukraine's access to investments and security collaborations.
