Power Restored to 600,000 Households in Ukraine Following Severe Weather

Energy company DTEK has successfully restored electricity to 600,000 households affected by severe weather conditions across Ukraine. The restoration efforts involved 270 teams working continuously to bring power back to homes impacted by strong winds and heavy rainfall.

DTEK reported that significant progress was made in Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, where crews repaired 705 overhead power lines and over 12,500 transformer stations.

The severe weather, which struck on April 26, affected nearly the entire country, bringing with it high winds, rain, snow, and hail. The storm resulted in three fatalities due to falling trees in Zaporizhia, Zakarpattia, and Cherkasy regions.

In addition to the loss of life, the storm caused widespread damage and power outages. Strong winds tore roofs off buildings, uprooted trees, and in some areas, hail and snow were reported. A tornado was even recorded in Lviv region.

More than 700 settlements were left without electricity as a result of the storm. According to the national energy company Ukrenergo, the adverse weather conditions affected 19 regions across Ukraine.

DTEK has restored power to 600,000 households after severe weather caused widespread outages and damage across Ukraine. The storm resulted in three fatalities and impacted 19 regions.
