On April 23, the Ukrainian military reported a significant escalation in combat activity along the eastern front, with 144 clashes recorded since the start of the day. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detailed a series of aggressive actions by Russian forces, including airstrikes and drone attacks.
According to the report, Russian forces launched 52 aerial strikes and dropped 176 guided bombs. Additionally, over 3,100 kamikaze drones were deployed, resulting in 1,936 artillery shellings targeting both civilian areas and military positions.
In the Northeastern and Kursk regions, Ukrainian positions were subjected to 67 artillery strikes. Meanwhile, in the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Russian troops attempted to storm Ukrainian defenses five times.
Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled five assaults in the Kupiansk area and halted three attempts by Russian forces to advance in the Lyman sector. In the Sloviansk direction, two assault attempts by the invaders were also thwarted.
While no offensive actions were reported in the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian forces managed to fend off 13 assaults in the Konstantynivka area. The Pokrovsk direction saw 28 attacks from Russian troops, while eight attempts to improve their positions were noted in the Oleksandrivka area. The Hulyaipole direction experienced 14 attacks, and three unsuccessful assaults were reported in the Dnipro direction.
