On April 4, Ukrainian forces reported 128 combat engagements along various fronts, according to the operational summary from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Russian forces conducted 73 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and civilian areas, including seven strikes using multiple launch rocket systems. The Southern Slobozhansky front saw six assaults on Ukrainian units near the settlements of Vovchansk, Okhrimivka, and Ambarne, with two engagements ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled four Russian assaults in the areas of Kurylivka, Pishchane, Kivsharivka, Novoplatonivka, and Novoosynove, with three combat encounters still in progress.
On the Pokrovsk front, Russian forces launched 24 attacks, attempting to advance in the vicinity of Bilitske, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Udačne, Hryshyne, Myrnohrad, Novomykolaivka, and towards Novy Donbas. Three combat engagements are currently ongoing.
Additionally, in the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian troops made eight attempts to improve their positions, attacking near the settlements of Oleksandrhrad, Sichneve, and Verbove. Airstrikes targeted areas surrounding Ivanivka, Dobropasove, Levadne, and Vyshneve, with one combat engagement continuing.
General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, stated on April 1 that the Pokrovsk direction remains the most intense along the entire 1,200-kilometer active front.
According to him, Ukrainian defense forces recently halted the advance of Russian troops in several settlements near Hryshyne, Myrnohrad, and Tavriisk.
In an interview with Radio Svoboda on March 19, Ruslan Habinet, commander of the 5th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade, which is active in the Pokrovsk direction, confirmed that defense forces continue to control certain areas of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk.
Military experts have noted an escalation in combat activity on the front lines of the Russo-Ukrainian war, attributed in part to improving weather conditions.
