Intensified Combat Reports from Ukraine’s Eastern Front

The Ukrainian military reported 128 combat engagements since the start of the day, according to the evening update from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces launched 30 attacks, attempting to advance in areas including Bilitske, Shevchenko, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Serhiivka, Udachne, Muravka, Novomykolaivka, Novopidhorodne, Novopavlivka, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, and Molodetske.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian troops conducted 18 assaults on Ukrainian defensive positions, while 11 attacks were reported in the Huliaipole direction near Huliaipole, Olenekostiantynivka, Varvarivka, Zelenyi, and towards Dobropillia, Pryluky, Hirky, and Charivne. Two assault actions are ongoing.

Fighting persists in the South Slobozhansky, Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Dnipro directions.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy did not conduct active offensive operations.

General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated on April 1 that the Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest area along the entire 1,200-kilometer active front.

According to his reports, Ukrainian Defense Forces recently halted the advance of Russian troops in several populated areas around the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, including near Hryshyne, Myrnohrad, and Tavriysk.

In an interview with Radio Svoboda on March 19, Ruslan Habinet, commander of the 5th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade, which is tasked with operations in the Pokrovsk direction, confirmed that Defense Forces continue to control certain sections of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk.

Military experts have noted an escalation in combat activity in the Russian-Ukrainian war, attributed in part to improving weather conditions.

The latest reports indicate a significant increase in combat activity along various fronts in Eastern Ukraine, particularly in the Pokrovsk sector. Ukrainian forces are actively engaged in repelling numerous assaults while maintaining control over key areas despite ongoing challenges.
