Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on March 9 that the country has received 11 requests for the supply of drones capable of countering hostile drone attacks. These inquiries have come from regional neighbors of Iran, as well as European nations and the United States.
Zelensky emphasized the growing interest in Ukraine’s expertise in life protection, interceptor systems, electronic warfare, and training. He stated, “Ukraine is ready to respond positively to the requests of those who assist us in protecting the lives of Ukrainians and the independence of Ukraine.” While he did not provide specific details, he noted that Ukraine has already addressed some of these requests with concrete solutions and support.
On March 8, The New York Times reported, citing Zelensky, that Ukraine has dispatched drone experts to help secure American bases in Jordan.
Earlier, on March 4, Zelensky indicated that Ukrainian experts would be deployed to the Middle East to assist countries in defending against Iranian attacks. Discussions regarding this deployment are already underway.
According to the Financial Times, both the United States and an unnamed Gulf nation are interested in acquiring Ukrainian interceptor drones to target Iranian Shahed drones. In exchange for assistance, Zelensky proposed a “quiet exchange” with Middle Eastern countries, seeking missiles for air defense systems.
