Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation’s ongoing battle against corruption during an interview with Piers Morgan, which was released on YouTube. He emphasized his commitment to honesty and acknowledged the challenges faced in combating corruption.
Zelensky stated, “I am trying to be as honest as possible in everything and with everyone. I know that I make mistakes, like anyone trying to accomplish something in this life. When newspapers and media in Ukraine or elsewhere report on cases of corruption, my response is that we are fighting this issue, and yes, such cases exist, but we are building a significant anti-corruption infrastructure.”
He further remarked on the tactics employed by Russia, suggesting that they aim to exploit societal difficulties in Ukraine to create division and exert pressure on the state. Zelensky noted, “It is clear what is happening and what Russia is doing. I believe that Americans largely sense this. They can feel where the truth lies, where misinformation exists, and where the real problems in Ukraine are.”
