Ukrainian Initiative Supports Regional Media Through Charity Merchandise

In a collaborative effort to bolster independent journalism in frontline regions of Ukraine, 25 companies have joined a social initiative titled “Critical Infrastructure.” This project is a partnership among the news outlet “Ukrainska Pravda,” the energy company DTEK, and the fashion brand Damirli.

The initiative features a charitable collection of hoodies and t-shirts designed by Ukrainian designer Elvira Hasanova, with all proceeds directed towards supporting independent media organizations in five regions. The beneficiaries include “Kordon.Media” from Sumy, “Hvar” from Kharkiv, “Dnipro.media” from Dnipro, “MykVisti” from Mykolaiv, and “MOST” from Kherson.

“Supporting journalism is always a bit more than just partnership or charity. It is about backing those who ask uncomfortable questions and deal with sensitive topics every day,” said Sevgiil Musayeva, the editor-in-chief of “Ukrainska Pravda.”

The merchandise is available for purchase on the DAMIRLI website. Businesses interested in participating in this initiative can reach out via email at [email protected]

A new initiative involving 25 Ukrainian companies aims to support independent journalism in frontline regions through the sale of charity merchandise. Proceeds will benefit various media organizations facing challenges due to the ongoing conflict.
