Ukrainian Youth Required to Register for Military Service by July 31, 2026

Ukrainian citizens turning 17 in 2026 must register for military service by July 31, 2026, according to the Lviv Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCK and SP). This registration period is set to run from January 1 to July 31, 2026.

The TCK emphasizes that registering does not equate to being drafted into military service. Instead, it involves entering personal information into a national database essential for the country’s defense planning.

Registration can be completed in two ways. The first option is through the ‘Reserv+’ app, which allows users to authenticate via BankID or Diia.Signature and update their information online.

The second option requires individuals to visit their local TCK and SP office in person. Those opting for this method must bring several documents, including a passport, tax identification number, birth certificate, a 35×45 mm photo, and educational credentials.

At this stage, no medical examination is required. The TCK noted that health assessments will occur later, prior to the commencement of basic military training.

Officials urge young individuals not to delay their registration until the deadline, as timely compliance can prevent administrative penalties and ensure that their records are current.

Registration Deadline and Penalties

Legal expert Taras Borovsky has stated that failing to register by July 31 will result in a violation of military registration rules, which could lead to fines ranging from 17,000 to 25,500 hryvnias.
