Majority of Kyiv Residents View City as Comfortable for Living, Survey Shows

A recent survey conducted by the Rating Group indicates that a significant majority of Kyiv residents consider their city comfortable for living. Over 50% of respondents believe that Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko effectively represents the interests of the capital.

According to the survey, 82% of residents view Kyiv as generally comfortable for life. This figure reflects an increase from 75% in a similar survey conducted in August 2021, suggesting a positive shift in public perception.

Furthermore, 87% of participants expressed pride in living in Kyiv. Key factors contributing to this sentiment include the city’s rich history and cultural heritage (62%), its parks and green spaces (56%), vibrant cultural life (46%), and opportunities for personal development (41%).

When assessing the impact of Klitschko’s tenure as mayor, one-third of respondents noted improvements in the city since he took office. Conversely, 25% disagreed, while 35% felt that conditions had remained unchanged.

More than half of those surveyed acknowledged Klitschko’s success in advocating for Kyiv’s interests and securing international aid to address the aftermath of the city’s bombardments.

The survey was conducted between May 22 and May 27, 2026, using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 residents aged 18 and older. The sample is representative in terms of age and gender, with a margin of error not exceeding 2.8%.
