A recent assault on Kyiv has resulted in significant structural damage and multiple injuries. Emergency services are currently engaged in rescue operations in the city, particularly in the Darniytskyi district, where a residential building partially collapsed.
According to local authorities, nine individuals have been hospitalized due to injuries sustained during the attack, while two others received outpatient care. Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko confirmed these figures, stating, “Nine people were hospitalized in city medical facilities due to the mass attack by the enemy on the capital. Two individuals received assistance on-site.”
The State Emergency Service (SES) reported that the collapse of the multi-story building in Darniytskyi occurred following a direct hit. Rescuers have successfully extracted ten people from the debris, and ongoing operations aim to locate any additional victims.
In addition to the building collapse, debris from the attack has also impacted other areas. In one instance, fragments fell onto a gas station, while in another, debris struck a parking facility and a business center in the Obolon district. The SES further noted that a residential apartment on the twelfth floor was damaged, and injuries were reported in a 25-story unfinished building.
In the Dniprovskyi district, a fire broke out on the roof of a five-story residential building. One person was identified as injured in this incident.
Situation in Kyiv Region
The Kyiv region endured a night of intense hostile activity. Reports from the Kyiv Regional Military Administration indicated that five individuals were injured in the Boryspil district, including a man and a woman who were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds. Three other women received medical assistance at the scene.
Additionally, a woman born in 1984 was injured in the Fastiv district and was treated on-site. The administration noted that the aftermath of the attack is being assessed across six districts, with firefighting efforts ongoing in several locations.
As a precaution, air raid alerts continue to be in effect throughout Kyiv and the surrounding region.
