Undeclared Arctic Fox Fur Seized at Polish-Ukrainian Border

Ukrainian border officials have intercepted a significant quantity of undeclared Arctic fox fur valued at approximately 400,000 hryvnias ($10,800) during a routine inspection at the Hrushev border crossing with Poland.

The incident occurred on a scheduled bus traveling from Warsaw to Ivano-Frankivsk. Officers from the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment, in collaboration with customs officials, acted on prior intelligence that led them to scrutinize the vehicle.

Upon examination of the bus’s luggage compartment, authorities discovered 120 Arctic fox pelts concealed among the passengers’ belongings. The 65-year-old driver claimed he had received the fur as a regular parcel in Poland and intended to deliver it to Ivano-Frankivsk.

The undeclared goods have been confiscated and are now stored at customs facilities. The driver faces potential legal consequences for violating customs regulations.
