At the 2026 French Open, four Ukrainian tennis players have advanced to the third round, marking a significant achievement for the nation in this prestigious tournament. Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Oleksandra Oliynykova, and Yuliya Starodubtseva have all secured their spots in the Round of 16.
Starodubtseva’s victory stands out as she defeated the world’s second-ranked player, Elena Rybakina, in a match that has been described as a historic win for Ukraine in Grand Slam events. Svitolina has consistently reached this stage since 2015, missing only the 2022 season, while Kostyuk returns to this level for the first time since 2021. Oliynykova is making her debut in the Round of 16, and Starodubtseva is competing at this level for the second consecutive year.
The only Ukrainian player to be eliminated in the second round was Daria Snihur, who lost to Peyton Stearns. Earlier in the tournament, five Ukrainian players reached the 32nd round, setting another national record for representation.
Results of Ukrainian Players in the Second Round:
- Elina Svitolina (7): defeated Kaitlyn Keefe — 6:0, 6:4

This achievement surpasses the previous record set last season when three Ukrainian players reached the third round: Svitolina, Starodubtseva, and Dayana Yastremska. Notably, this is only the second instance in Grand Slam history where four Ukrainian representatives have progressed to the third round, the first being at the 2024 Australian Open.
