In a series of coordinated strikes, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) targeted the “Permnefteorgsintez” oil refinery and a pumping station in the city of Perm, Russia, on the night of May 8. This marks the third attack on these facilities within a two-week period.
The SBU’s Special Operations Center “A” executed the operation against both the “Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez” refinery and the linear production dispatch station located over 1,500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The strikes involved drone technology and resulted in a fire at a key processing unit within the refinery.
According to the SBU, the “Permnefteorgsintez” refinery is one of the largest oil processing plants in Russia, supplying fuel to both civilian sectors and the Russian military. The linear dispatch station is operated by Transneft and serves as a critical hub in Russia’s main oil transportation system, distributing oil in four directions, including to the Perm refinery.
The Ukrainian Security Service has intensified its operations against Russian oil infrastructure, targeting significant facilities in Perm. This escalation reflects ongoing tensions and strategic military objectives amid the conflict.
