Ukrainian President Zelenskyy Responds to Ongoing Russian Military Activity

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Russia has not halted any of its military operations, asserting that Ukraine will respond in kind. His remarks came during an evening address, where he outlined the current situation regarding hostilities.

Zelenskyy noted that Russia’s response to Ukraine’s proposal for a ceasefire has been met with continued strikes and attacks. “As of today, we see that Russia has only responded to our offer of a ceasefire with new assaults and strikes,” he said.

Throughout the day, reports of attacks emerged from various regions, including Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson. Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia has not ceased any form of military activity, stating, “Unfortunately, they have not stopped. Ukraine will act mirror-like. Depending on the situation tonight and tomorrow, we will determine our just responses.”

The President also indicated that Russia has received a clear proposal from Kyiv regarding peace and diplomacy, and is aware of how to contact Ukraine or its partners to discuss details. “If there is one individual in Moscow who cannot live without war and is only interested in a parade, that is another matter. Ukraine is ready to work for peace. We strive to conclude this war honorably,” he added.

Zelenskyy underscored that Russia’s military ambitions have reached a point where even their main parade is contingent upon Ukraine’s actions, describing this as a clear signal that it is time to bring the conflict to an end. He expressed gratitude to those who stand with Ukraine during this time.

President Zelenskyy has reiterated that Ukraine will respond to ongoing Russian military actions, emphasizing the lack of a ceasefire. He called for peace while highlighting the continued hostilities across various regions in Ukraine.
