Ukrainian President Zelensky Meets U.S. Congress Members to Discuss Air Defense Needs

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently held a meeting in Kyiv with U.S. Congress members Richard Blumenthal and Jim Himes, both from the Democratic Party. The discussions centered around enhancing support for Ukraine, particularly in strengthening air defense systems amid ongoing Russian attacks.

Zelensky emphasized the urgent need for anti-ballistic missiles, which he highlighted in a letter sent to both the White House and Congress. He personally delivered this letter to the congressmen during their meeting, underlining the critical situation Ukraine faces due to continuous missile strikes from Russia.

In his communication, Zelensky pointed out that Ukraine is heavily reliant on the United States for its defense against ballistic missiles, specifically requesting PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot defense systems. This request comes in light of increasing threats from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As of now, there has been no public response from Washington regarding Zelensky’s letter or the meeting with the congressmen.
