Over 70 representatives from foreign diplomatic missions visited the site of recent Russian attacks in the Lukyanivka district of Kyiv, following an invitation from Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
During the visit, Minister Sybiha and the diplomats laid flowers to honor the victims of the strikes. He emphasized the need for a strong international response to Russian aggression, urging that clear signals be sent to Moscow regarding global unity against its actions.
“We must firmly respond to the terror from Russia, ensuring that Ukraine receives additional air defense systems and missiles, and reaffirming our commitment to EU membership,” Sybiha stated. He highlighted the stark contrast between Russia’s military actions and Ukraine’s peaceful efforts.
The Minister also expressed gratitude to the State Emergency Service and all rescuers for their relentless work in saving lives amidst the aftermath of the attacks.
In related news, exiled Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya began her visit to Kyiv by paying respects at the grave of a fallen Belarusian volunteer and also visited the damaged areas in Lukyanivka.
It was reported that the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs building was also damaged during Russian strikes in Kyiv on May 24.
