On April 27, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian forces launched 76 attacks since the start of the day. The aggressor targeted border regions, particularly in Sumy Oblast, affecting areas such as Rohizne, Volfyne, Kucheryvka, and others.
By 4 PM, the report indicated that the majority of combat activity was concentrated in two key directions: Pokrovsk in Donetsk and Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia. In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops attempted to displace Ukrainian forces 29 times, targeting settlements including Bilytske, Zatyshok, and Novopavlivka, with four attacks still ongoing.
Meanwhile, in the Huliaipole direction, 13 assaults were reported against Ukrainian positions near Dobropillia, Pryliuky, and other locations, with two attacks still in progress. The areas of Rizdvjanka, Verkhnya Tersa, and others also experienced airstrikes.
Fighting continued across various fronts, including the South Slobozhansky, Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Dniprovsk directions.
On April 15, General Oleksandr Syrskyi noted that with changing weather conditions, Russian offensive actions had intensified along a 1,200-kilometer front line. The most active areas in March included the Oleksandrivsk, Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, and Lyman directions.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the current frontline situation as unique, stating that Ukrainian positions are more stable than in previous months and years, while also highlighting ongoing Russian preparations for aerial assaults on Ukraine.
Earlier, the U.S. Institute for the Study of War (ISW) indicated that significant Russian gains on the battlefield were not inevitable, and full victory was not assured.
