Ukrainian Forces Maintain Operations in Russia’s Kursk Region Amid Increased Pressure

Ukrainian military chief Oleksandr Syrskyi has confirmed that despite intensified pressure from Russian forces, Ukrainian Defense Forces are actively conducting operations in the Kursk region of Russia.

In a statement shared via Telegram, Syrskyi noted that Russian troops have amassed approximately 106,000 personnel in the Pokrovsk direction. He emphasized that enemy activity remains high in several areas, including Ocheretyn, Oleksandrivka, Kupiansk, and Kostiantynivka, as well as along the border with Russia.

“Ukrainian Defense Forces are disrupting the enemy’s plans, steadfastly holding their positions, and conducting their own active operations when conditions allow. Despite the constant pressure from the enemy, our forces continue to fulfill their tasks even on Russian territory — our presence in the Kursk region is maintained,”

said Syrskyi.

He also reported that in April, Ukrainian forces targeted 84 objectives deep within Russian territory. Key targets included oil refining facilities, fuel transportation sites, specialized chemical production, munitions, and other enterprises associated with Russia’s military-industrial complex.

Ukrainian military operations in the Kursk region of Russia persist despite Russian troop pressure, with significant targets being struck within Russian territory. The ongoing efforts aim to disrupt enemy plans and maintain a strategic presence.
