Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, the commander of Ukraine’s Drone Forces, has introduced a new operational benchmark known as the “Standard 10,” aimed at increasing the effectiveness of drone strike units within the Ukrainian military. This formula stipulates that each drone strike crew should aim to eliminate ten Russian soldiers per month.
Brovdi explained that if the majority of drone crews achieve this target, Ukraine could potentially inflict double the casualties on Russian forces compared to their mobilization capacity. He stated, “If most crews achieve 10 confirmed kills per month, we will be destroying twice as many as Russia can mobilize. In a few months, they will be overwhelmed.” Currently, the average number of enemy combatants eliminated by a single drone crew stands at approximately three per month, but there is significant potential for improvement.
Some units within the Drone Forces have already demonstrated higher success rates. For instance, the Phoenix unit has reported an average of 22.3 enemy casualties per month, while the 414th Brigade, known as “Madyar’s Birds,” has achieved an average of 30.6 casualties per crew.
Brovdi emphasized that reaching these targets does not require additional resources, as the implementation of the Standard 10 would entail each crew operating at a pace of one confirmed kill every two to three days, which he considers realistic. He noted that over the past five months, Ukraine has succeeded in inflicting greater losses on Russian forces than they can replenish.
He remarked, “It is time to exploit the enemy’s inability to increase mobilization. How do we do this? By intensifying attacks on their most vulnerable points, striking at their weaknesses until they collapse.”
In early May, Brovdi indicated that for five consecutive months, starting from December 2022, the ratio of Russian military reinforcements to losses has been negative. In January, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that one of Ukraine’s strategic objectives in the conflict is to inflict up to 50,000 casualties on Russian forces monthly, rendering the war unsustainable for them.
Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Drone Forces, has proposed a new operational target for drone crews, aiming for ten enemy casualties monthly. This strategy seeks to exploit current Russian mobilization challenges and increase the effectiveness of Ukraine's drone operations.
