Ukrainian Air Defense Intercepts 50 Missiles and 582 Drones in Overnight Assault

In the early hours of June 15, Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted a significant wave of attacks, bringing down 50 missiles and 582 drones launched by Russian military forces. The assaults targeted multiple locations across Ukraine, with the most intense focus on Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that their radar units tracked a total of 681 aerial targets during the assault. This included six anti-ship missiles, 34 ballistic missiles from the Iskander family, and 30 cruise missiles, alongside a staggering 611 various types of drones.

The drones included models such as Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas, as well as loitering munitions known as Banderolet and imitation drones labeled as Parody. These were launched from several regions, including Bryansk and Kursk in Russia, as well as occupied territories in Crimea.

By 8:00 AM, Ukrainian forces had neutralized or suppressed a total of 632 aerial threats. This count comprised five anti-ship missiles, 15 ballistic missiles, 30 cruise missiles, and 582 drones of different types.

The Ukrainian Air Force also confirmed that the attacks resulted in hits from 20 ballistic missiles and 27 strike drones across 42 locations, with drone debris falling in 12 different areas.

Ukrainian air defense forces effectively countered a large-scale attack from Russian military forces on June 15, intercepting numerous missiles and drones. The assaults primarily targeted major cities, with significant interceptions reported across various regions.
