In the early hours of May 30, Ukraine’s air defense forces successfully intercepted a significant number of Russian aerial attacks, including 290 drones and several missiles. The Ukrainian military reported that 279 drones, identified as Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others, were neutralized, along with five missiles, including the Iskander-M ballistic missile and six Kh-101 cruise missiles.
The Ukrainian Air Force detailed that the defensive response involved various military units, including aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups. These coordinated efforts were crucial in mitigating the impact of the assault.
According to the report, as of 9:00 AM, the air defense had successfully downed or suppressed a total of 284 targets, comprising five Kh-101 missiles and 279 drones across multiple regions, including the north, south, central, and eastern parts of the country.
The Air Force also noted that during the attack, nine drones were recorded at seven different locations, with debris falling in ten areas. Additionally, two missiles—one cruise and one ballistic—failed to reach their intended targets, although further information is being confirmed. The air assault from Russia is ongoing, with several drones still active in Ukrainian airspace.
