Ukraine Avoids Electricity Consumption Restrictions on April 18

On Saturday, April 18, Ukraine will not implement any electricity consumption restrictions for residential and industrial users, according to NЕК “Ukrenergo.”

Despite this positive news, energy officials are urging citizens to conserve electricity during peak hours, specifically from 6 PM to 10 PM, when demand on the energy system is at its highest.

Since January 14, a state of emergency has been in effect, initiated by President Volodymyr Zelensky amid ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. On March 14, the president signed a decree to activate the National Security and Defense Council’s plans aimed at enhancing resilience for cities and regions in preparation for the winter of 2027.

Ukraine will not impose electricity consumption limits on April 18, while urging citizens to conserve energy during peak hours. This follows a state of emergency due to ongoing threats to the energy infrastructure.
